Who We Are

Protex Health is part of the Healix group of companies. Protex staff have many years' experience of private medical Insurance (PMI), fully understanding the PMI market and it’s nuances. 

Healix was formed in 1992 by two clinicians, Dr Paul Bevan and Dr Peter Mason. The focus for Healix, and indeed Protex, is good patient and clinical outcomes, ensuring when a policyholder needs us, we are there to support them through their medical problem.

To us, the most important part of any healthcare offering comes at the point of claim, as this is where you really find out how good your healthcare is. 

With this in mind we have partnered with a first class claims administrator, Healix Healthcare Services, who are a nurse-led claims administrator. Healix Healthcare Services are responsible for the healthcare claims of large blue-chip companies and also the UK Government.

At Protex we have partnered with a Lloyd’s of London Insurer in Hamilton. As with all Lloyd’s syndicates, they benefit from Lloyd’s’ ratings, which are all A’s and are backed by Lloyd’s Chain of Security
